چکیده

Purpose In a nuclear or radiological event, an early diagnostic tool is needed to distinguish the worried well from those individuals who may later develop life-threatenFing hematologic acute radiation syndrome. We examined contribution of peripheral blood's cell populations on radiation-induced gene expression (GE) changes.Materials and methods EDTA-whole-blood six healthy donors was X-irradiated with 0 4Gy T-lymphocytes, B-lymphocytes, NK-cells granulocytes were separated using immunomagnetic methods. GE in whole blood. Results The contributed total RNA amount ratio 11.6 for 1.2 B-cells, NK-cells, 1.0 granulocytes. To estimate per population, baseline (0Gy) fold-change relative unexposed considered each gene. T-lymphocytes (74.8%/80.5%) predominantly up-regulation observed FDXR/DDB2 B-lymphocytes (97.1%/83.8%) down-regulated POU2AF1/WNT3 similar effect blood measurements reflecting corresponding order magnitude. Conclusions T- down-regulation POU2AF1/WNT3. This study underlines use biodosimetry purposes prediction health effects.

Altered gene expression in T-cell receptor signalling in peripheral blood leucocytes in acute coronary syndrome predicts secondary coronary events

OBJECTIVE Comprehensive profiling of gene expression in peripheral blood leucocytes (PBLs) in patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) as a prognosticator is needed. We explored the specific profile of gene expression in PBLs in ACS for long-term risk stratification. METHODS 30 patients with ACS who underwent primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and 15 age-matched adults who pa...

Mir-183 and FOXO1 gene expression changes in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of breast cancer patients

Background and Aim: Today, cancer is considered as a major health problem and affects the health of society. Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death in women after lung cancer. According to epidemiological studies, cancer is the second most common cause of death after cardiovascular disease worldwide and the third leading cause of death after cardiovascular disease and acciden...

Severe acute radiation syndrome: treatment of a lethally 60Co-source irradiated accident victim in China with HLA-mismatched peripheral blood stem cell transplantation and mesenchymal stem cells

This is a case report of a 32-year-old man exposed to a total body dose of 14.5 Gy γ-radiation in a lethal (60)Co-source irradiation accident in 2008 in China. Frequent nausea, vomiting and marked neutropenia and lymphopenia were observed from 30 min to 45 h after exposure. HLA-mismatched peripheral blood stem cell transplantation combined with infusion of mesenchymal stem cells was used at Day...

P53 protein expression and cell viability in irradiated peripheral blood mononuclear cells as bioindicators of radiosensitivity

Cellular radiosensitivity is directly correlated with the mechanism of DNA repair, in which p53 protein plays a major role. In this context, this study correlated cell death with p53 expression in lymphocytes irradiated in vitro with different doses of gamma-radiation. For this, peripheral blood samples were collected from 10 healthy subjects. Each sample was divided in aliquots and, separately...

Expression Levels of Two DNA Repair-related Genes under 8 Gy Ionizing Radiation and 100 Mg/Kg Melatonin Delivery In Rat Peripheral Blood

Background: After radiation therapy (RT), some health hazards including DNA damages may occur where melatonin can play a protective role due to free radical generation. On the other hand, serious accidental overexposures may occur during RT due to nuclear accidents which necessitate the need for study on exposure to high-dose radiations during treatments. Objective: The aim of this study was to ...
